Inspired by the masterful writings of Mr. J.R.R. Tolkien and his fantastical realm of Middle Earch, our stable name and ideals are derived directly from his work.
The Kingdom of Rohan is described as a land of pastures and lush, tall grass, making it perfect for horses. Rohan actually means "horse-land". The people of Rohan called their home RidderMark. Tall, bonde, and with fair faces, the people of Rohan were hearty and retained their strength even in old age. They are described as having natural nobility and "are proud and willful, but they are true-hearted and generous both in thought and in deed". (The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers).
They farmed and raised horses on the green pastures of their country. The people of Rohan were famous as skilled horse breeders. They loved their horses above all else. These people bred, kept, cared for, and most importantly, befriended the noblest horses to have ever roamed. Both in times of war and peace, their greatest concern was for their horses, which were the best in the world. It was because of the close affiliation and bond with their horses, that they were called "The Horse-Lords" and were the best horsemen in all of Middle Earth"
